May PTO Meeting to be held on Zoom.

A global pandemic can’t keep us down! We are still planning on holding our monthly PTO meeting on Zoom on May 5 at 6:30. (There will be an update as to the name/number of the meeting and the password.) We know you have a lot of questions and we would like to try to address them. Please submit questions by April 30 to or via Facebook Messenger and we will do our best to answer them at our Zoom meeting. If your question is time-sensitive we will do our best to email an answer to you. We look forward to hearing from you! Stay safe out there!

Parent University offerings

We are happy to announce the scheduling of 5 workshops from Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) this Spring.

Two workshops at Heatherdowns Branch Library and three more at the Locke Branch Library. See workshop descriptions below for details.

These workshops are for parents and caregivers of children of all ages.

A light dinner and free childcare and transportation assistance is available.

Food For Thought will be bringing groceries for every family on March 12 and April 20.

Camp Invention

 Let your child’s imagination soar with exciting STEM activities that build confidence and creative-thinking skills at Camp Invention®. The program is coming to Grove Patterson Academy from June 8 to June 12. Secure a spot using D25CAMP to save $25 at or by calling 800-968-4332.

5th Grade Camp Fundraiser has started!

LIMITED TIME OFFER!  We are excited to partner locally with Tom Strain & Sons for our 5th Grade Camp Storer fundraising.  Please consider purchasing poinsettia’s or holiday wreaths in support of our students. 

Orders are due to the school 11/21 at noon.  If you don’t know a 5th grader but would still like to purchase, please print the attached and send to the school with payment.  We will allocate your purchase to the general fund to help reduce the cost to all students.  

Delivery is expected 12/9 with pickup times 5:00-8:00.  We are seeking volunteers to help unload the truck at 3:00, sort orders and check out until 5:00.
